To people who think it's "left wing" not to support England in the footie

Eng-er-lund! Eng-er-lund! Eng-er-lund!

I'm off to watch the England v Trinidad & Tobago match, and as you'll have gathered I will be cheering on England, in a suitably articulate manner of course. Here's hoping it'll be a good game.

Errmmm... and vote wotserface off Big Brother if you get a sec.

What a load of crap. (The game, not your post)

They'll have to do better than that in the second round.

Having said that, never mind Rooney, who was anonymous after he got on, Lennon was fecking brilliant.

Did you watch it down the pub with Jim?

"Errmmm... and vote wotserface off Big Brother if you get a sec."

You've lost me there, I'm afraid.
However, as you were slow off the mark with the "Gormless George" blog, here's a link to an edited summary of GG's worst bits on Big Brother.

I supported Trinidad and Tobego: I didn't actaually watch the game, as I find football very boring. but the Missis watched the game, and begun supporting England, but then switched over to T&T just before half-time. What a pity they (T&T)lost: they held off England or a long while, and they are clearly the superior sportsmen.

Hi Jim,

"I didn't actaually watch the game, as I find football very boring."

I expect you were listening to one of your John Coltrane CDs!

"What a pity they (T&T)lost: they held off England or a long while,"

They sure did. They did fantastically well, considering that they're not that great footballers, with a couple of exceptions.

"and they are clearly the superior sportsmen."

Are you sure about that? Oh, hang on a minute, I was forgetting:

"I didn't actaually watch the game, as I find football very boring."

It makes sense now.

Yeah: I was listening to "A Love Supreme", as I tend to when the worlD gets me down. It makes suicide seem superflous.

Hey Jim,

Sorry to raise the tone, but it's the tenth anniversary of Ella's death today.
Maybe you could post a tribute on here.

Just put the CD on. I hear music. Mighty fine music.

Ella was the greatest pop vocalist in history. Her pitch was perfect.

I liked her so much, that when she died, people offered me condolences.

Yeah, the game was fairly kaka, and fair play to T & T, I don't think 2-0 is a particularly just scoreline.

HP are lauding "Liverpool 2 T & T 0" at the moment, presumably because of Crouch and Gerrard's involvement. But I think the prize goes to John Terry for that off-the-line clearance at the end of the first half: without that we'd have been looking at a very different game.

Yes, I've just commented there on that vile headline.
